Make a mix, Change a life – Mongolian Mixtape Marathon

I just wrapped this up about two days ago and the site finally went live. For the past month and a half my friend Felipe over at Solution Nine and myself have been working with fellow dance music bloggers Noise Porn on a website for their charity project, the Mongolian Mixtape Marathon.

The Noise Porn guys are going to drive from London to Mongolia on a 10,000 mile rally spanning over 800 hours and crossing the Gobi desert. They’re not only donating the vehicle they’re driving, but raising money through the new website through a mixtape marathon, asking people to donate money directly alongside mixes they’ve made.

I won’t get into the specifics of how we’ve done it right now, but we have some awesome things planned for the project and the site is already accepting donations and DJ mixes. All you have to do is donate a small amount and you’ll receive a code to submit your mix. The mixes get posted on the website for the world to hear and download and people can even hear them on iTunes through the podcast.

I’m psyched to be a part of this and hope that you’ll take the time to make a donation, or if you’re musically inclined, a donation alongside a DJ mix.

More to come including how the project was developed.
